Energy Auction is Heating Up

Bidex Energy Auction, the Peterlee based business energy auction specialists, continue their rapid growth as more and more companies enquire about using their innovative energy auction services. The company uses industry leading software that allows Ofgem licensed energy suppliers to bid for live energy contracts and is already transforming the way businesses purchase their energy.

Most businesses often speak to suppliers directly or use a broker, but what they don’t realise that in both cases it doesn’t always get them the best possible prices. Bidex offers a true alternative that is effective and saves money by introducing greater competition and transparency about energy prices. Bidex openly publish their auction fees for all to see, creating an industry first and providing an unprecedented degree of transparency

“We’re here to shake up the energy market and get businesses to wake up to the fact that they are paying far too much for their energy. And it’s not just unit prices, but also the large hidden fees that many brokers charge. Greater transparency and competition will reduce this, improving prices for everybody. Auctions eliminate broker and supplier favouritism, preferred bidders, discrimination and potential collusion between third parties” said Development Director Bob Pritchard.

Bidex currently have 15 Field Sales Account Managers operating throughout the country, and plan to have around 50 fully trained Account Managers working for them by the end of the year. These are backed up by a team of 15 support staff at its Head Office, who manage the energy auctions, the IT systems and provide ongoing administration and support.

For Bob Pritchard, the key is training and support “We provide all of our Account Managers with a comprehensive training programme, and have recently taken on a Sales Manager to provide additional support. We’re also making further improvements to the Bidex website by displaying our best unit prices for gas and electricity on a monthly basis as well as trend indicators showing market direction, providing business customers with additional vital market information to enable them to make informed decisions. Totally unheard of in the industry”

Bidex are already involved with a growing number of mixed SME and Industrial & Commercial customers with some high profile clients including international airports, national high street retail chains and a number of large manufacturing businesses. The future’s certainly looking bright for Bidex and for business energy users throughout the UK!
