Loyalty Scheme Initiative launched By Focus Educaution
Initiative launched in response to teachers’ inspection and assessment concerns
A former Ofsted school inspection provider which now delivers educational resources and training for teachers across the country has announced the launch of a unique loyalty scheme designed to allow teachers to better tackle the ‘ever changing landscape’ of the sector.
In response to growing concerns amongst Focus Education’s event delegates about how to meet the expectations of Ofsted inspections and wider assessments, the firm said the new initiative would drive down the financial burden of ‘vital resources’ that provide ‘insight and advice’ at a time when ‘budgets are tighter than ever’.
The scheme, which is open to new and existing clients of the company, works in a similar way to popular supermarket loyalty programmes – with users collecting points that can be put towards relevant training.
However, unlike other similar systems Focus Education is offering members exclusive access to as yet unreleased publications responding to key curriculum changes; as well as priority access to the business’ popular residential conference which takes place on an annual basis.
Clive Davies OBE, founder of Focus Education and a former Ofsted inspector and local authority advisor, said: “It’s not a secret at this juncture that teachers are concerned about the ever changing landscape of the education sector, with the expectations constantly changing and evolving and the pressure on ever dwindling budgets worse than ever – not least since the publication of the latest education whitepaper.
“Time is tight, money is tight and expectations from inspectors and assessors are high, so we wanted to come up with a solution that would help to alleviate some of the pressure from a time and a financial perspective. After much consultation this approach seemed to be a pretty good starting point.”
Focus Education, a family-run firm established in 1993, supports more than 3,500 institutions a year through its consultancy work and events - hosting in excess of 20 courses a month which address key subject areas including ‘raising standards in writing’ and ‘Headteacher inspection training’; as well as through the publication of its education resources.
The firm, which recently launched its preview function on its website which allows teachers to review the content of a publication before committing to buy to it, will publish its long awaited Focus Maths resource next month – a complete mathematical resource which will provide clarity and direction for all teachers.
