Former Manchester United and Everton striker becomes Passion Project ambassador

Axis Stars Limited, a social network for professional athletes, has signed a deal with digital media firm Milestone Group to work on its youth unemployment programme The Passion Project.

As part of the agreement Axis Stars, which was co-founded by former Manchester United and Everton striker Louis Saha, will work to market and cross-promote The Passion Project using technology available through Milestone’s joint venture, Nexstar.

Additionally, the deal between the two firms will see Louis Saha become an official ambassador of the programme.

Louis commented: “The partnership between Axis Stars and Milestone Group Plc is so exciting, so innovative, so disruptive when at the same time our targets are the same and focus on positive social impact.

“I am inspired by initiatives that help young people to achieve their potential and my passion is working with people and businesses that can really make that happen, it is our moral duty.”

He added: “I am proud to be an ambassador for The Passion Project, where athletes and artists, who young people look up to, can be a role model and point the way to making a difference to their fans.”

In a statement released today (May 9), Milestone said it expects to sign up additional “athletes, celebrities, musicians and actors” in the coming months.

Deborah White, the CEO of Milestone, said: “I am very pleased Louis has shown such enthusiasm in our foundation and the suite of technical solutions we have available through Nexstar.

“Louis Saha is known globally for his skills as an athlete and through his Axis Stars initiative, is showing his skills in business.”

She continued: “His Axis Stars platform has been designed to help sports stars around the world better manage their careers and with the suite of technological solutions at our disposal this partnership will be mutually beneficial.”
