CEO of Yorkshire recruiting business wins prestigious industry award

Scott Davies, chief executive of Sheffield-based primary care recruitment specialist Hallam Medical, has been recognised by the recruitment sector, winning Agency Recruitment Leader of the Year at the Recruiter Awards 2016 which recognises best practice within the recruitment community.

Open to all senior recruitment leaders in recruitment agencies throughout the UK, the judges were looking for the person who had had the most significant influence on the profession, their recruitment business, and demonstrated exemplary leadership. The judges commented that they were impressed by the way Scott dealt with challenges in an open and supportive manner and credited Hallam Medical’s strong financial performance which has built a solid platform for the future. They also said that as a leader, Scott had driven Hallam Medical to exceptional growth, built a strong senior management team and aligned the business with other key organisations that support nursing.

Scott Davies was presented with the award at a ceremony held at Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday 4th May 2016.

Hallam Medical, which is backed by Leeds and London-based private equity firm Key Capital Partners (KCP), was also highly commended in the Recruitment Agency of the Year category.

Scott co-founded Hallam Medical in 2007, developing it from a boutique start-up to one of the one of the fastest growing specialist medical recruitment agencies in the UK, sourcing more Nurse Practitioners for NHS and private healthcare providers than any other recruitment agency.

Scott said: “I am delighted to receive this award which I see very much as recognition of the niche business we have established. With more than 50 years’ experience of healthcare recruitment and clinical experience within our senior management team, we have a deep understanding of primary care.

“Over the last nine years, we have become trusted by nurses and healthcare providers, consistently demonstrating that we understand their needs and delivering excellent value and a straight forward approach. With increasing demand for primary care and community services due to the ageing population and a move towards home care, we are able to work with the NHS and private medical providers to help them deliver a high quality, affordable service.

“I’d like to thank everyone in our 60-strong team at Hallam Medical for their part in enabling us to win this prestigious award.”

Philip Duquenoy, partner at Key Capital Partners, adds: “It’s great to see Scott’s outstanding leadership recognised in this way – he has built up a niche, fast-growing business which has a bright future ahead.”

In 2015, Hallam Medical was once again one of the Sunday Times’ ‘Virgin Fast Track 100’ companies – for the third time in four years. It was also recognised in the Recruiter Hot 100 for 2015 and has been listed in the Recruiter Fast 50 for 2016.

The company is headquartered in Sheffield and also has offices in London.
