FinTech firm WorldRemit partners with Middle Eastern exchange brand for Africa expansion
London-based WorldRemit has announced a new partnership with UAE Exchange that will see it expand the range of services it provides in Africa.
The FinTech firm, named the ‘UK’s fastest growing technology’ company by Deloitte last year, will offer customers in Morocco, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Zambia the ability to pick up transferred cash at UAE Exchange branches.
WorldRemit provides remittance services through its app, allowing migrant workers to send money home to over 125 countries worldwide using just their mobile phone, and now facilitates over 400,000 transfers a month.
Ismail Ahmed, WorldRemit’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are committed to giving people the power to share money anytime, anywhere. By partnering with UAE Exchange, our customers can enjoy a greater range of payout options in more countries than ever before.”
Promoth Manghat, Chief Executive Officer at UAE Exchange, added: “As one of the world’s most innovative remittance and foreign exchange brands, we are delighted to collaborate with another trailblazer in the space. Through our partnership, WorldRemit can benefit from our extensive correspondent network, expanding their coverage into new areas.”
