Merger of two Leeds firms to create ‘hundreds’ of new jobs
A merger between two Leeds firms is expected to create hundreds of jobs, with the two companies predicted to jointly hit a £10m turnover by the end of next year.
Servo Manpower, a division of multi service provider Servo Group, will merge with Momentum to create Servo-Momentum, providing staff for construction, rail, civils and shopfitting projects.
Servo Manpower currently works with clients such as Balfour Beatty, Wates, Eddisons and Sirius, and the firms have a combined turnover of £6m, which they expect to almost double next year.
The two companies had been working together as resourcing contractors on large contracts, so joining forces to further their national expansion was a natural progression.
Jodie Crosthwaite, Servo’s managing director said: “We have been searching for some time for a genuine no-nonsense resourcing partner, a company with the same family values and dynamism as ourselves, others we have looked at simply did not meet our standards.
“Our manpower division has grown so fast that it was crucial that we didn’t have our performance diluted due to sheer volume of work.
“Having worked with Momentum for some time, we know their strengths complement ours, so this partnership will propel us both forwards to expand even further and create jobs. With Servo Momentum, we can offer a one stop shop for blue and white collar labour, and all trades, anywhere in the UK.”
Billy Bingham, commercial director at Momentum, added: “We have seen terrific growth surpassing everyone’s expectations so given Servo Manpower’s position in the market coupled with ours it really was only a matter of time before we joined forces to create Servo-Momentum, we will essentially be responsible for all resourcing and ‘back office’ something we do very well, I would go as far to say better than any of our competition, which is proven time and time again.”
Only Servo Manpower will be involved in the partnership and creation of Servo Momentum the rest of the Servo Group will be unaffected.
