Car dealership to host ‘Superb’ charity event

Horsham’s family run Skoda dealership, Station Garage, will be hosting a special fundraising event on Saturday 14th May to raise vital funds for their charity of the year SERV Sussex – a service by Emergency Rider Volunteers that provides night time transportation of blood, blood products and other urgent medical items for NHS hospitals across the county.

From 11am to 4pm the Station Garage team will be situated on The Forum outside TK Maxx in Horsham town centre. Not only will they be offering face painting, where children can be transformed into their favourite characters and heroes in return for donations, Station Garage will also be selling delicious SKODA themed treats throughout the day. Lovingly made by one of their very own baking enthusiast employees, Ginny Bishop, there will be something to tempt every sweet toothed customer from Yeti tray bakes to Fabia brownies, and more, all in a bid to raise much needed funds for SERV Sussex.

A team from SERV Sussex will also be on hand at the fundraising event to talk to Horsham residents and visitors about their life saving work. They will be offering youngsters and their families the opportunity to climb aboard their emergency vehicles to pose for photographs, encouraging them to upload to social media platforms to help raise awareness of their cause and encourage new volunteers to come forward.

If that weren’t enough, Station Garage will be running a competition during the day where, if visitors can guess how many balloons are in the Skoda display car (situated at their stand), they will be entered into a prize draw to win a family ticket to Peppa Pig world worth £100.

James Thorpe, Dealer Principal at Station Garage in Horsham, commented:

“We are excited to be returning to The Forum in Horsham for this special fundraising event. As a business that firmly believes in family and community values we a very proud to be supporting such an incredible charity. Every member of SERV Sussex volunteers their time to help complete strangers and, in doing so, provides a vital service for our county helping to save hundreds of lives each year. We are hoping to raise as much as possible on the day and encourage local residents to come and visit our stand and show their support.”
