GWR supports Jessie May’s Mulberry event
Twenty volunteers for local charity Jessie May helped out at an invite-only Mulberry Sample sale in Mayfair thanks to the support of Great Western Railway (GWR).
GWR donated 20 return rail tickets enabling the volunteers to get to the event at no cost to the charity.
The volunteers manned the cloakroom and collected donations at the Mulberry event which attracted over 9000 people across three days.
Jessie May Head of Fundraising Julian Withers said: “It was absolutely wonderful that Great Western Railway generously donated travel to our volunteers for this event.
“The donation represents over £2000 of expenses which can now go towards funding our nurses and caring for our families across Bristol, Bath, North Somerset ,South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
“Mulberry have supported us locally for over a year and we were so excited when we heard we could be involved in the London Sample Sale event. The added bonus of the GWR support was just amazing.”
Jessie May provides a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. It costs around £1,000,000 for the charity to provide this care yearly and Jessie May is almost entirely dependent on public support.
