Expansion sees Warrington tech firm Mini-Cam double capacity

North West manufacturer Mini-Cam is targeting international growth after doubling capacity at its facility in Warrington.

The Goldborne-based firm, which designs and manufactures pipeline inspection systems for use in the clean and waste water utilities markets, among other sectors, has acquired a second premises at Kirkstead Way near its existing facility on Yew Tree Way.

Expanding Mini-Cam’s footprint in the region by 6,500 sq ft and doubling its current operating capacity, the deal will allow the company to scale up production and respond to a rising demand for its systems from international markets, particularly Germany and the US.

Mini-Cam’s custom vehicle fit-out arm will move to the Kirkstead Way site, which will feature showroom space for the company’s full product range.

Nigel Wilson, Mini-Cam’s managing director, said: “These new facilities allow us to increase our capabilities in key areas that align with our current and future growth plans.

“The additional space not only enables us to expand our capacity, to support current growth, it also provides us with dedicated facilities to host customer demonstrations and other activities.”

He added: “Our team is excited about the growth we are experiencing and this move represents a commitment to continue to build on the success our team has accomplished.”

In July last year, Mini-Cam was backed during a management buyout by private equity firm LDC, which provided funding to assist the company with product innovation and revenue growth in new and existing international markets.

LDC investment director Chris Wright, who is also a non-executive director with Mini-Cam, commented: “Mini-Cam is experiencing strong growth, both in the UK and internationally, which is being fuelled by the successful development of new products.
