Decor8 chooses Blackpool for third North West store
Decorating supplies retailer Decor8 has expanded in the North West with the launch of a new Blackpool store.
The company, which provides decorating materials for commercial and residential customers, opened the 6,500 sq ft shop with support from NatWest.
Established in 1985, Decor8 already operates two North West sites in Manchester and Bury.
The new store, situated on Dixon Road behind the Imperial Hotel, created three jobs but has the potential to offer further local employment opportunities in the future.
Decor8 MD Gary Thompson said: “The new store in Blackpool is a short distance from the motorway links and also has great access to Blackpool town centre.
“We decided to open in Blackpool because we wanted to bring our expertise, experience and enthusiasm to the Fylde coast.”
He continued: “I am originally from Lytham St Annes, having been educated at Arnold School Blackpool, so it’s nice to be returning to where I grew up and went to school.
“We have been fortunate to put together a super team that cumulatively have many decades of experience within the trade paint sector in Blackpool itself.”
The accommodate the opening, Decor8 worked with Helen Smith, a senior relationship director at NatWest, to secure a loan.
Commenting on the bank’s support, Gary continued: “Helen and NatWest have been very supportive of us.
“We had initial discussions about the new store six to eight months ago, and Helen has been very good at keeping us informed of what she has been working on.”
Now, Decor8 plans to mark the expansion with a launch celebration on May 20, during which customers will have access to product demonstrations and free giveaways. Circus performers will also be on hand at the event.
Senior relationship director Helen said: “Decor8 is a fantastic business that continues to deliver high quality services to its customers across the UK.
“The new store in Blackpool will no doubt continue in this tradition and we wish them every success for the future.”
