Student accommodation provider IconInc to build £19m Leeds development
IconInc, the luxury student accommodation provider, is set to build its second development, The Glassworks on Cardigan Road in Leeds.
Launched by Parklane Group, IconInc’s first development was The Edge in Leeds.
The second development in Leeds, The Glassworks, valued at £19m, is set to open September 2017 and will feature 154 student apartments.
The Glassworks site has been derelict for 15 years and the redevelopment will regenerate the area, as well as provide 10 new jobs.
The 6 storey development will provide boutique hotel-like living 365 days of the year with en-suite bathrooms, double or king beds, a flat screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi and all-inclusive utility bills.
Tenants can choose from a range of optional extras including professional cleaning, daily fresh fruit delivery, kitchen equipment, luxury Egyptian cotton towels and bedding hand-picked by IconInc’s interior designers.
The Glassworks also includes an on-site gym with personal trainers, a cinema room, a games zone, complimentary daily breakfast, study rooms, self-service pantry and 24hr concierge.
In addition, IconInc’s second development will comprise a ‘mega kitchen’ and ‘mega lounge’ area. The building’s exterior will include an outdoor space inspired by George Clark Amazing Spaces with themed pods. The pods will each be available for students to hire for study, quiet time or socialising.
Naveen Ahmed, managing director of Parklane Group, said: “There’s exciting times ahead for the IconInc brand and we’re pleased to celebrate its successful launch by expanding with a second development in Leeds.
“The modern day student demands much more from their living space than basic accommodation and the IconInc properties will give them exactly that – high end, luxury living. We appeal to the growing number of students looking for something special because our accommodation is guaranteed to make moving in easy and with all the additional home comforts and special extras taken care of.”
