Avecto recognised as North West’s top SME exporter
Endpoint security software firm, Avecto has been named the North West’s leading SME exporter in the 2nd annual Sunday Times Heathrow SME Export Track 100.
Published on the 15th May, the list ranks Britain’s private small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) with the fastest growing international sales. Avecto was listed 36th nationally, up from 99th last year, and was the highest placed company in the North West region thanks to an impressive international sales growth of 82% over the last two years.
Headquarted at Manchester Airport, Avecto provides next generation endpoint security software to some of the world’s biggest organizations across multiple industries. In 2015, Avecto announced record financial results, with a 70% growth in revenue, and secured a $49 million (£32 million) minority investment from US-based JMI Equity.
Paul Kenyon, co-founder and co-CEO of Avecto said:
“Taking our software internationally has been a priority for us from day one. Within a year we had established our Boston office, which supports a growing number of US customers, and expansion to Europe and into Asia Pac soon followed.
“Though we have an expanding international footprint, we are a very proud Manchester business and we’re committed to playing our part in keeping the city as a hotbed of tech innovation. Our own software research, development and quality assurance all happens out of the Manchester office and we are always looking for more talent to support this continued growth.
“I’m delighted that our efforts and continued investment in overseas territories have been recognized again in this years’ Sunday Times Heathrow SME Export Track 100 and it’s an honour to be heading up a successful and innovative tech company from the North West of England.”
Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Lord Price, added: “It’s great to see so many small and medium sized businesses successfully trading around the world.
“They are the lifeblood of our economy – providing jobs and growth – and they also play an important role in ensuring the UK remains a great trading nation. What these great British brands show is that the demand and opportunity is out there. I want more companies to follow their lead and seize it.”
