Campus North to host innovative tech unconference
Newcastle-based tech hub Campus North will this weekend play host to the first Measurecamp ‘unconference’ to take place in the North East.
Measurecamp is an open, free digital analytics event designed to be different to the standard type of conference.
The format of an unconference sees attendees determine the schedule and shape of the day, from design to delivery. The aim is to learn, develop and network by working together in small groups.
It’s the first time Measurecamp has been held anywhere in the UK outside of London. Other cities hosting it globally include Paris, Madrid and Sydney. The focus is on the use of data and measurement techniques in the fields of user experience, accessibility, conversion and digital marketing.
Lyndsey Britton, co-founder of Campus North, said: “At Campus North we aim to host all kinds of events to support the tech community.
“The Measurecamp unconference is the first of its kind in the north and we’re delighted to be working with the organisers to make sure it’s an inspiring and useful day for everyone coming along.”
Sean Burton, organiser and a sponsor of Measurecamp Newcastle, said: “We’re really pleased to be bringing Measurecamp to Newcastle. Not only is Campus North the region’s top tech hub, the facilities and support we have had are first rate.
“Newcastle has such a strong digital presence and skills, as many of the attendees are coming from outside the region, the fact it has great transport links also help.
“The format of an unconference is very innovative and different to other events and we’re really looking forward to a great day of sharing and learning.”
Measurecamp takes place on Saturday 21st May.
