Northumberland asset integrity firm in Aberdeen expansion
Northumberland-headquartered asset integrity firm Strategic Corrosion Management (SCM) has continued its expansion outside of the region, with the opening of a new venture in Scotland.
Further strengthening its partnership with Quality Services (Aberdeen), the duo have launched a new office in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, to grow their presence in the UK oil and gas industry.
SCM, which has existing facilities in Cramlington and Lowestoft - as well as a regional presence in Denmark, Qatar and the Caribbean - has opened the new Meeting & Business Development Suite at Crichiebank Business Centre to help support companies in the oil and gas industry through their current challenges and to capitalise on its recent success in the sector.
Quality Services (Aberdeen), having outgrown its former premises following a successful year, welcomed the need to relocate to the larger, state-of-the-art facility from which the firm will deploy its range of services.
For SCM, the new office will be primarily occupied by Managing Director Ian Cordingley and Products & Services Division Coordinator Marc Dabbs, while QSA staff including Managing Director Mike Byrne, Senior Inspection Coordinator Michael Hendry and Technical Coordination Assistant Aaron Cullen will be based at the facility. Further growth and expansion is also anticipated in the near future.
Ian Cordingley, director of SCM said: “Obviously Aberdeen is central to the UK’s oil and gas industry. We have a great heritage there having worked with so many of the well-known operators in the region in the past and present.
“Having a base here will certainly help us continue to do so in the short and long term. The industry is going through a tough period right now and this is a move we have taken to show our continued support at this crucial time.”
