Messaging platform aiming to be ‘a secure alternative to Whatsapp’ secures $1m funding

London-based enterprise messaging platform Mindlink has announced it has raised $1m (approx. £686k) as part of its latest fundraising round.

The round, which the tech firm say was drawn from a mixture of existing and undisclosed new investors, will be used to boost ‘aggressive’ expansion plans within the financial services sector.

Founded in 2011, Mindlink specialises in Chat Enabled Collaboration (CEC) tools for enterprise and business, with claims to be a ‘secure alternative to Whatsapp’, as well as boasting the ability to connect the likes of Microsoft Lync and Skype.

Mindlink’s software is already utilised by the likes of Royal Bank of Scotland, and the firm is hoping to target more high-profile financial services firms following this latest round of investment.

Justin Forrest, MindLink Chief Executive Officer, was hopeful that more big names would be signing up for the tech firm’s services in the near future.

He said: “In the last quarter alone, MindLink has signed up two of the world’s largest investment banks as well as a number of smaller financial services firms who will be using MindLink to collaborate and share sensitive and confidential financial information, safe in the knowledge that it is fully compliant and secure.

“We are also enjoying considerable success within the legal community and most recently began working with one of the leading cybersecurity firms.”
