Crewe guide dog meets sponsors for first time
Colleagues at a local housebuilder’s development in Crewe were excited to meet the guide dog puppy, Wilson, whose training they have helped to sponsor.
Wilson, who is sponsored by David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West, was VIP guest at the company’s Meadow View development in Crewe. The Golden Retriever puppy, who is cared for and trained by the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, has received £7,500 of sponsorship from the developer.
The homebuilder has a strong affiliation with the Guide Dogs having first sponsored a puppy more than 20 years ago. Wilson was part of a litter of eight puppies and his formal training will begin shortly and will last for three to nine months. Guide dogs can provide years of active service for their owner, performing a wide variety of tasks, before retiring at an average age of 10.
Steve Jackson at DWH North West, said: “Our logo is a Golden Retriever so we have always felt a very strong connection with the Guide Dogs charity. It was great to meet our puppy in person and to see how much he’s grown as he starts to prepare to go through his training.
“We have sponsored a number of puppies over the years and hope our latest donation will further strengthen our ties with the charity and the hugely important work it carries out.”
Meadow View is a development on Maw Green Road in Crewe, offering bright, spacious and family friendly homes with generous gardens. Homes at the site start at £239,995 and the site’s show home is open Monday 12.30 - 5.30pm and Thursday to Sunday 10am - 5.30pm.
DWH was recently awarded the maximum five star official rating from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for the seventh year in a row. The news was announced after more than 20,000 new home buyers across the country took part in this year’s HBF customer satisfaction survey.
