Discover Energy enjoys Pig and Poultry Fair success

It’s one of the most popular events for pig and poultry farmers around the UK and Discover Energy found lots of attendees are interested in installing solar PV panels and battery storage.

The two-day event attracted more than 10,000 visitors and the team from Beverley-based Discover Energy found their stand was very busy with those working in the pig and poultry sectors being keen to find out how solar power can help them cut their energy costs.

The firm’s Martin Bleasby said: “The Pig and Poultry Fair has been a fantastic experience and we’ve generated lots of business leads from it and found the whole exercise worthwhile.

“There’s no doubt that businesses in the pig and poultry sectors appreciate how solar PV panels can reduce their energy costs and, more importantly, how installing battery storage can help reduce their costs further.

“It was also good to see that farmers who have already got solar PV panels installed showed an interest in not only battery storage for boosting their installation’s overall performance but also in our monitoring package to ensure that their solar panels are working as efficiently as possible.”

Discover Energy is one of the UK’s leading solar PV panel installers

Discover Energy is one of the UK’s leading solar PV panel installers with an excellent track record within agriculture, particularly with farmers in Yorkshire and the North East, and it now looks like their order book will take them further afield.

Mr Bleasby added: “We are trusted installers of solar PV panels on farms and we understand what it takes to work with agricultural businesses and know how to ensure farmers get the return on investment they are expecting - and we aim to exceed those targets – as well as ensuring the panels work to their maximum capacity for their expected life spans.”

Mr Bleasby pointed out that many farmers are under the impression that it was no longer economically viable for farms to install solar PV panels any longer after the Government reduced the Feed-in-Tariff (FiT).

He explained: “Despite the drop in the feed-in-tariff, the installation of solar PV panels and battery storage is still a viable opportunity for farmers to reduce their costs and boost profitability as well as polishing their environmental credentials as well.”
