The Matalan Merseyside 10K
Merseyside residents are being encouraged to put on their running shoes and take part in the Matalan Merseyside 10K.
The Matalan Merseyside 10K will take place on Sunday 2nd of October 2016 and follows a route entirely within the grounds of Aintree Racecourse, home to the famous Grand National.
Alder Hey Children’s Hospital is the event’s official charity partner, nominated by Matalan.Runners who sign up for the event can raise money for the charity, or their own chosen cause.
Chris Lee, Creative Director of Souluxe said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Merseyside 10K this year and are looking forward to seeing everyone assembled at the starting line. Chris Bird, Chief Executive of Sports Tours International, who organise the races, commented: “This is a great event for people in Merseyside to take part – the route passes by many of the famous fences that are part of the Grand National. We are pleased to have the support of Matalan as the official partner and look forward to welcoming hundreds of runners to the event.“
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners, and prizes in all main categories and every runner who completes the course will receive a commemorative race medal and technical t-shirt.
There is also a Corporate Challenge open to businesses to enter a team of runners of three or more, with the winning team taking home the brand-new Rippleffect Corporate Cup as well as other prizes.
There is a Toddler Trot for children under 8 years old, where youngsters will follow a run along approx. 400 metres of the course.
The Matalan Merseyside 10K is a race for people of all standards and everyone is welcome.
