BemroseBooth Paragon creates 20 new jobs after investing in its Hull facility
BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), the transit and parking print specialist, has announced its restructuring plans, which details significant investment made and jobs created at the Hull-based facility.
The company, which acquired Lincolnshire-based Magnadata in August 2015, is set to consolidate its sites, which will result in a new technology centre in Boston whilst manufacturing of all magnetic products and paper based items will move to Hull.
Magnadata is now a trading division of BBP, which produces 800 million magnetic tickets a year to the UK rail network alone.
Nearly 20 jobs will be made available at the site on Stockholm Road, Hull, with the company moving all heavy production capabilities from Boston over the coming weeks.
In addition, BBP will seek to encourage greater export as a result of its expertise and global network.
Rob Burgin, general manager of BBP, said: “Our traditional magnetic products remain essential to us and our clients, but we recognise the need to innovate and be at the forefront of the provision of new technologies and services, which will allow our clients to introduce a seamless integrated journey when it comes to their ticketing requirements.
“Whilst we already provide magnetic and contactless solutions to a number of major cities in North America, our investment plans will support significant export growth. This is an exciting time for our business and we have the full support of the wider Group in achieving our goals of traditional ticket manufacturing efficiency, while developing a portfolio of products and services for the future.”
Paragon’s two US businesses have come together to form Paragon Magnadata Inc., based in New Jersey, with technical and sales personnel on the East and West Coasts.
Paragon is an international business solutions group with more than 4,000 employees in over 150 locations across 45 countries.
