Local Businesses Raise Money over a Curry

Over 80 local business professionals got together on Monday 23rd May for Sheards Accountancy’s annual Curry Night to raise funds for The Town Foundation.

The event, held at The Chilli Lounge, raised over £1,000 for the charity, who’s aim is to improve the quality of life for young people across Huddersfield and the West Yorkshire area through a number of activities including the hugely successful Early Kick Off Breakfast Clubs. Sheards Accountancy pledged to continue their support of The Town Foundation at the beginning of this year after raising just under £2,000 for the charity in 2015.

The evening also included a raffle, which had prizes donated by a number of local businesses including The Town Foundation, KC Communications, Ridley & Hall, Chadwick Lawrence LLP, Crosland Heath Golf Club, Hirsche Automotive, Clough Corporate Solutions and Proud Office Management.

Kevin Winterburn, Director of Sheards Accountancy commented:

“After 5 years of organising charity curry evenings we couldn’t be happier, it was the best one yet! The event was a sell-out and everyone who joined us left knowing that they had helped raise both valuable funds, and awareness, for a great local charity.”

Julie Sheffield, Fundraising Manager of The Town Foundation commented:

“It was a pleasure to join everyone on Monday and to see the venue packed with so many local businesses supporting our charity was fantastic. Our charity partnership with Sheards is one that we really value and we can’t thank them enough for their hard work and tireless promotion of our Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs. The money raised on the night will guarantee over 2,000 breakfasts for children attending our Clubs.”
