Artez begins work on new residential property in Altrincham’s Goose Green
Building firm Artez has started constructing a new residential development in Altrincham town centre’s burgeoning Goose Green.
Working on behalf of local developer Novo Property Group, Artez is delivering 13 one-bedroom apartments ranging from 380 sq ft to 485 sq ft.
Designs for the transformation of the former workshop building, which will be known as The Tannery, were put together by Cheshire architects Calderpeel.
Originally, planning permission was secured for the creation of nine apartments, but amended proposals for 13 new homes were developed and accepted in July last year.
Novo director Ben Fearns said: “Goose Green has undergone considerable regeneration over the last few years, with a number of new bars, restaurants and fitness facilities appearing.
“We’re thrilled to provide luxury property in a thriving location for young professionals and singles.”
He added: “We’re confident that Artez’ vast experience in residential development will ensure the scheme is of the highest quality, bringing a burst of style and elegance to the area.”
The apartments range in value from around £140k to just under £160k. The properties have been released to market ahead of completion, with five already reserved.
London-headquartered CPC has provided project management services on the scheme.
Artez’ managing director, Mike Banton, said: “We’ve seen a major increase in residential contracts, which has been a real boost for the local economy and housing market.
“Schemes like The Tannery reflect the industry’s response to the need for good quality, residential development.”
Artez is due to complete The Tannery in December 2016.
