Mother and baby brand to open first South Yorkshire store at Fox Valley in Sheffield

JoJo Maman Bébé, the independent mother and baby brand, is opening its first South Yorkshire store at the new Fox Valley development in north Sheffield.

Founded in 1993 by managing director Laura Tenison MBE, the clothing retailer sells a range of maternity, nursery and baby wear as well as pre-school children’s wear.

JoJo Maman Bébé currently operates 75 stores in the UK and trade sales in more than 40 countries across the world.

The company has stores in York and Harrogate in north Yorkshire, and its first north east store opened in 2011 at Sanderson Arcade, which was also delivered by the Fox Valley developers Dransfield Properties.

The Fox Valley store will be the first in South Yorkshire and will launch in the second phase of store openings at the new £50m development in September, when the independent department store Sanderson’s will also open.

The new store will be in one of new retail units which have been designed around the landscaped peace gardens area at Fox Valley, neighbouring the centre’s new restaurants and coffee shops.

The Fox Valley JoJo Maman Bébé store will also join other retailers including the Cornish women and homewares brand Seasalt; which is also opening its first Yorkshire store in the new town centre development.

Laura Tenison MBE, founder and MD of JoJo Maman Bebe, said: “I’m really excited about our new store in north Sheffield’s Fox Valley.

“We have been looking to expand into the area for some time and this fabulous regeneration scheme makes the ideal parent-friendly destination shopping location. We have a huge customer base in the surrounding countryside and the easy parking, great restaurants, children’s play area and gorgeous new department store will make sure this is a roaring success.

“We continue to expand our retail portfolio across the UK and are specifically looking to fill some of the gaps on the map.

“The location of this regeneration scheme at Fox Valley offers a good solution since we cannot find the right local high street. Our local target market are spread across a wide area and this development will give them an easy to reach central point – perfect to meet friends, have a meal and do a spot of shopping.”

Mark Dransfield, managing director of Dransfield Properties Ltd, added: “We have worked hard to create a really unique destination here at Fox Valley and working with companies like JoJo Maman Bébé who offer something completely different is a huge part of creating that really special shopping environment.

“We are delighted that Laura and her team have chosen Fox Valley for their first store in our region.”
