Clash of Kings shoots in Manchester with 422
Clash of Kings, a real-time strategy mobile phone application have recently completed a shoot in Manchester, as part of their online marketing push for the mobile phone application. North West based service production company, 422 Shoots, was chosen to manage the two-day shoot across two locations in Manchester.
The video was released in May 2016, and has already been shared to more than 3.5 million users across the Clash of King’s social media pages. It then went on to air on German television.
International production company, Iconoclast, appointed 422 Shoots to facilitate and manage the filming. The production was directed by Marcus Walter, produced by Rocco Kopecny (Germany) and Bobby Bray (London).
Manchester United Midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger plays the leading role in the production. Schweinsteiger emerges from his tent as king, and we first see him in full costume and the exquisite armour. Schweinsteiger leads his army, which was made up of over 100 historical re-enactors, out of the camp and towards the battle, at which point the sheer scale of the production is revealed. For two days the whole of Crompton Moor Quarry was sent back into the Middle Ages.
Client Services Director at 422, Gemma Ackerley, said “As we are a Manchester based Company we are very proud to be bringing such high profile productions to the region. We were delighted to be able to facilitate and manage this shoot for Clash of Kings, and you can see just how much hard work has gone into delivering such a complex shoot. 422 has been building its credentials in the gaming and sports industries and this production is a showcase of our work. It’s really exciting that international production companies are choosing Manchester as a location to film”.
