Salford-based media services firm dock10 has expanded its North West footprint with the launch of a new post-production facility.
The Quay, located on the first floor of dock10’s studio site at MediaCityUK, comes in response to an increased demand from the firm’s existing client base and follows its recent acquisition of Manchester-based visual effects (VFX) business Edit19.
Doubling dock10’s post-production offer, the new facility comprises four VFX suites, 10 offline and two online suites, an area for motion graphics and a newly expanded grade facility with a built-in projector.
dock10’s head of post production and content, Paul Austin, said: “This is a very busy time for dock10 and we are very excited to be opening The Quay.
“As well as increasing our capacity to 50 edit suites (includes remote editing facilities), the facility adds a ‘wow factor’ grade suite and a home for our new VFX business.”
He added: “It also enables us to base our first-class team at the heart of the action, in line with our commitment to delivering a true one-stop-shop with superlative service.”
Earlier this year, dock10 announced plans to expand in the advertising and corporate markets after purchasing Edit19, which was founded in 2011 and employs a team of 11.
The firm’s chief executive, Mark Senior, commented: “dock10 is celebrating five years at MediaCityUK and it is extremely exciting times for our business.
“In the broadcast post production market we are increasingly working with high end dramas such as ‘The Five’ for Red Productions (which recently screened on Sky1) and following our acquisition of Edit19 we needed to build a vfx facility for our agency and commercial clients.
Mark continued: “Our new hub at The Quay will enable us to provide a high quality environment for both of these markets.”
