Export success for Oldham manufacturer James Briggs
North West aerosol and consumer chemicals manufacturer James Briggs has seen its exports double in recent months after expanding into new overseas territories.
The company, which operates from a facility in Oldham, saw exports grow to account for almost 10% of its total sales in April - double the export rate for the first half of its current financial year, which ends June 30.
The firm has partly attributed the increase to growing sales across Southeast Asia through professional cleaning brand Premiere Products, which is purchased in April last year.
James Briggs’ expansion into the Middle East, announced in January, has also contributed to its burgeoning international presence.
The CEO at James Briggs, Tim Pugh, commented: “Our reputation overseas is constantly growing, and we’re beginning to see that reflected in our bottomline.
“The past 12 months have seen us enter markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and we’re targeting a number of other new geographies as part of our ongoing growth strategy.
“During the acquisition process, we recognised the growth potential that the Premiere Products brand could offer alongside our existing products, so it’s extremely rewarding to see it contributing so significantly.”
Speaking further, Tim said he is confident the Premiere Products brand will “continue to prove a valuable asset” as James Briggs develops its export portfolio further and aims to achieve strong figures for the year.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to accelerate growth with the rollout of new enterprise resource planning software.
