Fast growing Caulmert expands to new St Asaph office in just 18 months

A North Wales-based engineering, environmental and planning consultancy has moved into new premises on the St Asaph Business Park following a period of rapid expansion.

Employee-owned Caulmert’s relocation comes just 18 months after the company originally opened a St Asaph office, with directors Mike Caulfield, Donna Milne and Allan Smith and 2 other employees.

After a number of contract wins across North Wales, including new multimillion pound schools in Bangor, Wrexham and Holyhead, as well as the £14m prestigious Menai Science Parc at Gaerwen, Anglesey, the St Asaph team grew considerably.

The new 3,300 sq ft building boasts space for 25 members of staff, future-proofing Caulmert against similar growth.

Three meeting rooms also provide the company with video links to their other offices in Bangor, Nottingham and Altrincham, removing travel time and expenses and increasing efficiency and productivity.

Caulmert has recently recruited a further three new employees to be based in St Asaph as part of an on-going recruitment drive, with space for up to 13 more engineering, environmental and planning professional experts in the future.

Director Donna Milne said: “This move comes at a really busy and exciting time for us. Despite starting up just seven years ago, we now have four offices across the UK.

“Our St Asaph office has experienced rapid expansion and we were bursting at the seams, with some members of staff having to temporarily relocate to Bangor before the move.

“The new set-up already has a fantastic atmosphere with a better working environment and we’re looking forward to adding to the team here and at our other offices.”

Founded in 2009, Caulmert is on track to meet an ambitious 15-year growth plan that would see it employ 250 people by 2024.

Its expertise in a variety of planning, environmental and engineering projects is supported by the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and modelling to meet PAS1192 level 2.
