Oxygen Freejumping’s multi-million expansion bounces into Croydon and Sheffield

Oxygen Freejumping, the trampoline park operator, is set to expand into Sheffield and Croydon within the next twelve months.

The company, which is spearheaded by David Stalker, former CEO of ukactive, and chaired by Fred Turok, ex CEO and chair of LA Fitness, is the largest trampoline park operator in the UK.

Oxygen has secured sites at Colonnades Leisure Park in Croydon and Archer Road in Sheffield and is investing over £11.5m into new trampoline parks across the UK in the next twelve months.

David Stalker, CEO of Oxygen Freejumping, said: “We are already the largest operator in the UK and not only fit out our parks to the highest levels, but also offer the broadest range of activities.

“We are on a drive to secure more sites in key locations and to bring our mix of fun, adrenaline and training to every corner of the UK. We received £10m of funding early this year and are in discussions with investors to achieve our aim of 30 sites by the end of 2017. This is an exciting and fast paced sector that has plenty of room for growth.”

Oxygen has signed a 15 year lease on a 29,000 sq ft unit at 619 Purley Way, Croydon. It has also agreed a deal with Virgin Active to convert a 42,000 sq ft gym at Archer Road, Sheffield, into a brand new trampoline park.

The company has assigned a sub-lease with 21 years remaining. Work will start on both sites this summer, with openings planned for next year.

The venues will comprise 150 interconnected trampolines, dodgeball courts, airbags, club-level trampolines, and Ninja Warrior Courses.

Oxygen first opened two sites in Acton and Southampton in 2015. In January, the company signed a deal with Lucozade Powerleague for five sites in Derby, Wigan, Blackburn, North Shields and Trafford Park.

Oxygen has also announced plans to open at Cardigan Fields in Leeds.

The Wigan park opened its doors to the public earlier this month, with Trafford Park planned for June.
