Newcastle’s £25m food revolution continues with fish, chips… and gin!
George’s Great British Kitchen is the latest tenant to sign up to intu Eldon Square’s Grey’s Quarter restaurant development in Newcastle.
George’s commitment, which has signed a 25 year lease on a 4,200 sq ft unit on the lower level, is hot on the trail of three new to the UK restaurant brands signing up to the development earlier this week.
Having originally opened in Nottingham, George’s Great British Kitchen has a heritage in fish and chips. The Newcastle site is the next step in the firm’s current expansion trail and will also include an ancillary gin bar.
Andrew Constantinou, owner of George’s Great British Kitchen, added: “George’s Great British Kitchen is all about changing the way people enjoy and think of British food whist adding a unique twist to quintessentially British dishes.
“The positivity with which our restaurant in Nottingham has been received, inspired us to share it with the people of Newcastle.”
Opening in autumn 2016, Grey’s Quarter represents a £25 million investment from intu and their partners and features names new to the region including The Alchemist, Tapas Revolution and Smashburger.
