Countdown to Red Door Manchester opening begins
The new Red Door bar is due to open in Manchester next week, bringing a mix of cocktails, live music and DJ sets to the city’s thriving Deansgate area.
The 2,800 sq ft venue, located below the Botanist, will have space for 250 revellers and joins existing Red Door sites in Liverpool and Chester.
Red Door Manchester’s launch will follow the untimely passing of Tim Bacon, chairman of bar operator Living Ventures and one of the leisure icons who established JW Johnsons, the split-level bar and basement club that occupied the Deansgate property in the 90s.
With his newest enterprise, Tim – who died in April aged 52 – had once again teamed up, this time independently, with JW Johnsons co-founder Dave Hinds and Lee Lynch, formerly of Living Ventures.
Along with low lighting and a musical focus, Red Door Manchester will feature reclaimed doors commissioned by Tim and designed by local artist Jamie Green.
Red Door Manchester will open its doors on Monday (June 6).
