£300k investment creates 20 jobs at Charles Clinkard
Charles Clinkard has revealed it is investing £300k to open a new, flagship store at Teesside Shopping Park, Stockton.
The footwear retailer has also disclosed that 20 jobs will be created at the site, set to open in July.
The new venue will be the company’s first ever at a retail park and will become Clinkard’s seventh store in the region.
The news follows the recent opening of a new £3m head office and warehouse at Cannon Park in Middlesbrough for the North East employer.
The company now employs more than 550 people around the country in 33 stores, including Newcastle, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Northallerton and Dalton Park.
Charles Clinkard, Managing Director, said the new store represented the company’s continuing commitment to the region and its customers.
Charles commented: “We’re very excited to be opening our new store at Teesside Shopping Park. It’s one of the busiest retail parks in the country and we believe it will be the start of an exciting new growth avenue for the business.”
The 4,500 sq ft unit, formerly occupied by HMV, will be made up of a 2,000 sq ft trading floor selling ladies’, men’s and children’s footwear and handbags and a newly installed mezzanine floor.
The show case store will receive a high quality fit-out to give a premium feel, enhancing customers’ shopping experience.
Charles added: “We’ll have a full product range on offer at Teesside Shopping Park, so customers will have an excellent choice of high-quality brands at great prices – and we think they will like the new-look shop.”
