Global ice hockey brand inks new 12-month deal with iceSheffield
A global ice hockey equipment manufacturer has announced a major sponsorship deal with ice skating venue, iceSheffield.
Bauer has become the new sponsor of the Sheffield venue’s Pad One in a 12-month deal, which will see the rink become rebranded as the Bauer Arena at iceSheffield.
The partnership will also see Bauer provide ice hockey equipment for use during iceSheffield’s ice hockey and ice skating coaching programme, which is the largest in the UK with 850 weekly lessons.
The venue was the first in the UK to be named a Centre of Excellence by Ice Hockey UK, and is the home of the Sheffield Junior Ice Hockey Club.
As well as the home rink for English Premier League side Sheffield Steeldogs, iceSheffield has also hosted 10 Sheffield Steelers games this season.
Shaun Lough, commercial manager at iceSheffield, said: “We’re extremely proud to welcome Bauer as our sponsor of Pad One.
“It’s a testament to the high quality of our venue, and the skaters which iceSheffield attracts, that we are able to partner with such a high profile brand.”
With eight offices across Europe, Asia, USA and Canada, Bauer, is globally renowned for producing innovative hockey equipment including sticks, gloves, pads, helmets, skates, bags and clothing.
Derek Armstrong, UK representative for Bauer, commented: “We are privileged to partner with one of the finest ice skating facilities in the UK, which attracts an enormous amount of people.
“The management and staff should feel proud of themselves for making iceSheffield such a great venue and we look forward to working closely with them over the next 12 months and beyond.”
