Latest Manchester City signing to strengthen club’s social media presence
Manchester City have signed a new content partnership with GIF search engine Giphy.
As part of the deal, Giphy - an online tool for searching and sharing animated images, known as GIFs - will host a dedicated MCFC page to give City fans more creative opportunities for connecting with the club on social media.
Manchester City-themed GIFs will also be incorporated into the timeline on Giphy’s homepage, letting fans use a search bar to find club content for use on their prefered social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook Messenger and Tinder.
MCFC are not the only City Football Group-owned club to have partnered up with Giphy, with US side New York City FC already maintaining a presence on the site.
The Giphy deal follows another partnership signed last month with Australian wine brand Wolf Blass.
Last week, a new report from professional services firm Deloitte’s Sports Business Group shed light on City’s colossal wage bill, operating profit and revenue.
