New retailers secure space at Southport’s historic Wayfarers Arcade
Two companies have moved into space at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade in Southport as Liverpool commercial agent Hitchcock Wright & Partners secured letting deals for units 2 and 47.
Men’s grooming business The Master Barber’s Shop and craft course provider Time4me Workshops have both established new bases at the shopping complex.
Having previously occupied a smaller unit at the site, The Master Barber’s Shop relocated into a 2,403 sq ft, two-storey space on a 10-year lease.
Time4me Workshops, meanwhile, has taken a 238 sq ft unit on a three-year lease. The business, run by Margo Price, sells fabrics and haberdashery in addition to offering sewing classes.
Hitchcock Wright partner John Barker said: “The retail offer at Wayfarers Shopping Arcade is a great mix of local speciality businesses which all bring a unique shopping experience to Southport.
“The expansion of The Master Barber’s Shop and introduction of Time4me Workshops continue to make the retail offer even stronger.”
He continued: “We understand how difficult it can be for independent or first time retailers to find the right location, at the right price.
“The new incentive of a 50% rent reduction offers an attractive opportunity for retailers to set up shop in the thriving Wayfarers Shopping Arcade and join Southport’s buoyant high street.”
The Grade II-listed shopping arcade was acquired earlier this year by investment company Panther Securities PLC, after 40 years under the ownership of property firm Lord Street Properties.
