A CGI of the Number 8 First Street scheme

Agents chosen for 173,600 sq ft Number 8 First Street development

Property firms Bilfinger GVA and Savills Manchester have been selected as the joint office letting agents for Number 8 First Street.

Construction of the 173,600 sq ft Manchester office scheme was forward funded through a joint venture between real estate company PATRIZIA UK and the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund, with developer Ask Real Estate serving as the site’s development manager.

To date, the seven-storey city centre property has been partially pre-let to Russian natural gas firm Gazprom, which has agreed to occupy just under 40,000 sq ft with an option on an additional 11,590 sq ft.

The remaining space comprises 106,000 sq ft, including floor plates of up to 26,000 sq ft.

Bilfinger GVA’s Manchester-based senior director, Christopher Cheap, said: “We are delighted to be involved in one of the most exciting new developments in Manchester city centre.

“Number 8 represents a fantastic opportunity for occupiers to be part of the vibrant new neighbourhood that has been developed around First Street.”

He added: “With continued demand for space in the city from both indigenous businesses and inward movers it is schemes such as First Street that will appeal to occupiers due to the quality of the office product and the broad range of amenity.”

Work on the building, which was designed by London-based Fletcher Priest Architect, is due to complete in September 2017.

The director of Savills’ National Office North, James Evans, commented: “Savills is delighted to continue its long standing advisory role on First Street.

“Number 8 will add further momentum on site and we are confident it will attract significant occupier interest.”

Earlier this year, plans were revealed for the launch of a new Indian dining concept at First Street.
