Clockjack's Woolwich restaurant is set to open in July.

Clockjack chicken brand set to roost in Woolwich with new restaurant

Clockjack, the rotisserie and grill restaurant in Soho, has secured a second site at 79 Powis Street in Woolwich Town Centre.

The Woolwich Arsenal Estate announced that Clockjack’s new 1,500 sq ft restaurant is due to open in July.

Founded by former Terra Firma managing director, Fraser Duncan and former Centre Parcs Europe COO, Jerry Goldberg, the business officially launched a 50-cover restaurant in Soho in 2012.

As well as the brand’s free-range chicken and drink offers, the new 75-cover Clockjack’s restaurant in Woolwich will also include a vertical rotisserie, only the second of its kind in the UK.

This news follows the launch of Clockjack’s new kitchen delivery hubthat opened last week near Monument tube station. It is aimed at city workers in London’s Square Mile where orders can be placed via the company’s website or Deliveroo.

Commenting on the behalf of the Woolwich Arsenal Estate, Gavin Rowlands, director at Nash Bond, said: “Welcoming this new concept to Woolwich town centre is tremendous news and a sign of the growing appeal of Woolwich as a prime location. Clockjack is an exciting brand and perfectly complements our current dining and leisure offer.

“The Woolwich Arsenal Estate benefits from a high footfall and we are in discussions with a number of new brands to add to the tenant mix.”

Fraser Duncan, co-founder and executive director of Clockjack, added: “We aim to create a restaurant in Woolwich that serves the best quality, great value, free-range roast chicken and with a welcoming, sociable atmosphere.

“We wanted to replicate the success of our restaurant in Soho and Woolwich was the next choice for our second Clockjack restaurant. The town’s growing reputation, high footfall, and an ongoing investment in the area, which includes Crossrail, made this the ideal location for our brand.”

Comprising more than 350,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space concentrated on Powis Street and Hare Street, the Woolwich Arsenal Estate is in the town centre of Woolwich.

Cradick Retail and Nash Bond acted for the Woolwich Arsenal Estate.
