£975k seafront hotel in Blackpool under new ownership
The Bedford Hotel, set in a Victorian townhouse on Blackpool’s historic seafront, is under new ownership after being run by a local family for decades.
The hotel, occupying 298-300 on the Promenade, was sold by property firm Fleurets to leisure operator Club 171 Ltd after being marketed with a guide price of £975k.
Ron Adams, the site’s vendor, said: “My family have run this business for over 50 years, with my mum and dad building a very sound business for me and my brother to take over
“It has given us many happy years, but now is the time to hand over the reigns.”
The business comprises 42 en-suite guest rooms, a 70-cover bar and lounge and a 100-cover dining room.
Lesley Watmough, a divisional director based at Fleurets’ office in Manchester, commented: “The hotel has a great location on the promenade but more importantly has car parking facilities and an indoor swimming pool, with 42 en-suite bedrooms this has always been a very profitable business.”
