Adare SEC makes £3.3m investment into Huddersfield site

Adare SEC has agreed to a £3.3m deal with Ricoh, which will result in a series of major upgrades to printing equipment at its Huddersfield headquarters.

The business, which also has a site in Redditch, provides technology-led, outbound and inbound secure and essential communication solutions to private and public sector clients.

As part of the investment, two state-of-the-art Ricoh Pro VC60000 full colour inkjet imaging lines will replace Adare SEC’s existing IP5000 inkjet machines. The new equipment will enable the business to offer an improvement in print quality through a 60% increase in print resolution.

Adare SEC will operate the new Pro VC60000s with Ricoh’s pigment ink, which uses less water and is quick drying, producing a better print finish across all applications.

Adare SEC will also install a new IP5000 mono duplex inkjet line at its site on Wakefield Road in Huddersfield. This will boost the business’s green credentials by using half the power and producing around one fifth of the heat of the existing line, whilst operating at double the speed.

Finally, a new Hunkeler high-speed sheeting system has been purchased which will assist Adare in reducing wastage during document processing.

Barry Crich, Adare SEC’s managing director, said: “We’ve won a number of major contracts over the last couple of months and significantly grown our presence in our core sectors. This deal forms part of an ongoing investment programme into the business as we look to build upon our market-leading position, increase our capacity and strengthen our relationships with customers.

“Inkjet has come of age in recent years, and our customers are demanding higher quality in this medium, this makes the Ricoh Pro VC60000 the right machine for us at this time. It is the best on the market; its efficiency, print head life and ink performance allows us to provide customers with an even higher quality and cost effective service.”

Stephen Palmer, director production print, Ricoh UK, added: “The Ricoh Pro VC60000 is proving to be a very popular press for operations looking to reinforce their market position and open up new growth opportunities.

“The combination of its speed, quality and production flexibility drives profitability and supports creative work mixes. The system continues to be adopted by companies looking to enhance their print production services and we anticipate more orders to be announced in the coming months.”
