JML Founder & Chairman Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
ERA Europe, the Electronic Retailing Association, have honoured JML Founder and Chairman John Mills with their coveted Lifetime Achievement Award, in Barcelona, Spain at the inaugural EMMA awards.
Held for the first time as part of the gala evening, the awards honour companies and individuals who have contributed to the Home Shopping Industry, and are continuously instrumental in the growth of the industry.
John Mills started his company, JML, in the basement of his house in London’s Camden Town in 1986. Today, the company employs nearly 300 people and sees £100 million sales annually. This year also marks the brand’s 30th anniversary. John has also played a key role within ERA’s leadership, having sat on the European Board between 2007 and 2011, and serving as Chairman for the last two of those years.
Isabelle Fournier, Chairwoman of ERA Europe, has commented of the award “We are delighted to announce that our Lifetime Achievement Award is being presented to retail & TV Home Shopping veteran John Mills. John was one of the first to recognise the power of video marketing and he has built an incredibly successful company with JML. His passion and keen business acumen is widely respected within our organisation and we are immensely proud to have had him work alongside us as part of the ERA family.“
John Mills Founder and Chairman of JML Direct on accepting the award “I am extremely honoured to have been recognised by the ERA for this award. I have always valued the ERA and have been proud to have been a part of their board for a number of years and so this does truly mean a lot to me.“
