Sheffield's Fulcrum secures contracts worth more than £600k in new market
Fulcrum, the Sheffield-based independent multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, recently entered the Short Term Operating Reserve (STOR) market and secured its first contracts, worth a combined total of more than £600k.
The first three projects, which have been commissioned by Kingsnorth Power, Wednesbury Power and Pen Y Fan Power, will provide improved infrastructure to gas-fired electricity generators.
The work will see Fulcrum compete with large network operators delivering infrastructure to STOR sites.
These sites convert gas into electricity in order to supply the national electricity network with reserve power during times of peak demand. As a result of Fulcrum’s work, the three STOR sites will be able to deliver more back-up electricity to the UK when required.
Fulcrum, which is the only independent utility infrastructure provider covering the whole of Britain, designs and delivers gas, electricity and water pipelines and connections.
Martin Donnachie, chief executive of Fulcrum, said: “Our operating model has enabled us to successfully differentiate ourselves and build exceptionally strong relationships with customers, who recognise the extra efforts we make to deliver beyond expectation.
“This reputation and a large number of transferable skills and capabilities allow us to deliver an improved and more flexible offering to these STOR site owners.”
