UK’s first legal comparison site secures 150th solicitor office ahead of launch

The Law Superstore, the UK’s first legal comparison website, has announced it has signed up its 150th solicitor office for the service ahead of its August launch.

The Newcastle-based business claims that, once launched, it will give businesses and consumers the chance to quickly and easily compare the cost of more than 130 legal services, filtering based on price, rating and location, akin to the service provided by insurance platforms like Compare the Market.

Practices already confirmed for the new comparison site including Blacks in Yorkshire, Hansells in the East of England, Express Solicitors in Manchester and McMillan Williams in London.

Once launched, users will be able to compare prices for legal services ranging from family law to conveyancing to business disputes, with solicitors able to set their prices for a specific service.

Chief Executive Matthew Briggs, who has previously held senior positions at Yorkshire law firms Minister Law and Brilliant Law, claims the platform has hand-picked the UK’s ‘most progressive law firms’ ahead of the launch.

He said: “The overwhelming support we have received from these prestigious law firms reinforces our belief that we are at the start of a revolution in the legal sector that will change the way businesses and consumers buy legal services in the future.

“We have invested heavily in creating a true comparison platform that gives solicitors complete control over the kind of work they are looking to attract and the price they want to charge for those services.”

In an attempt to ensure that the platform is fully populated with as wide a range of solicitors as possible, the site is also offering legal service providers the carrot of two months of fee free case referrals for the first two months following launch if they sign up before August.

“The Law Superstore is a no risk, new route to market for the legal sector and we look forward to welcoming more law firms as partners in advance of our launch,” Briggs added.
