Father’s Day prize for Barnsley fan

A proud dad and football fan is the latest winner of a feel-good initiative launched by a local shopping centre.

Danny Wassell scored a fantastic Barnsley FC match day experience after being nominated by his partner Alicia on behalf of his son, Tommy Millthorpe-Wassell, for the Father’s Day treat, courtesy of Barnsley’s Alhambra Shopping Centre.

Danny now looking forward to a VIP visit to Oakwell next season which includes match tickets for the hospitality lounge, a three-course meal, complimentary programme and parking.

“I couldn’t believe it when I found out and wasn’t expecting it at all,” he said. “It will be brilliant to look forward to such a great day out next season and we’ll be cheering on The Tykes all the way.”

The prize is the latest to be awarded by the popular shopping centre which launched a year- long initiative for 2016 to carry out Random Acts of Kindness among its many loyal customers and local residents.

Previous Random Acts of Kindness organised by the shopping centre have included rewarding Facebook fans, free parking vouchers, Valentines and Mother’s Day treats. Next in the pipeline is a new football kit for a local junior football team and free coffee and cake for shoppers at Massarellas.

If you want to join the Alhambra in spreading some happiness and know someone who deserves a Random Act of Kindness, please complete the online entry form at http://www.alhambracentre.co.uk/competition and your nomination will be considered.
