Tallest residential scheme in Manchester comes to market
Piccadilly Central, the residential project delivering hundreds of new homes in Manchester city centre, has come to market.
Property developer Ballymore has chosen real estate firm CBRE’s Manchester-based land and development team to sell space at the scheme.
Located on Store Street next to Piccadilly Train Station, adjacent to the site’s proposed HS2 Terminal, Piccadilly Central comprises three towers of 60, 16 and six storeys with enough space to accommodate 647 apartments.
Additionally, planning permission has been secured for a 220-bed hotel, multi-storey car park, new retail and leisure units and public open space.
Once complete, the largest of the three towers would be among the biggest buildings in Manchester, surpassing the city’s current tallest, Beetham Tower, by 13 storeys.
The senior director of land and development at CBRE Manchester, Steven Verity, said: “Piccadilly Central is without doubt one of the most prime, high-profile sites on the market within the region.
“Even without taking into account the HS2 hub which will be on the doorstep, the site is already one of the most strategic in the city as it is adjacent to one of the North’s busiest transport interchanges, Piccadilly Station.”
He added: “We anticipate high levels of interest in this unprecedented opportunity.”
