The Diocese of Leeds merges all four offices at new city centre hub

The Church of England’s Diocese of Leeds is set to merge all four of its West Yorkshire and the Dales offices, to create one central hub on York Place, Leeds city centre.

Established in 2014 from the former Dioceses of Ripon & Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield, the Diocese of Leeds required a new central administrative location.

The 17,200 sq ft office, which is being refurbished by construction and interiors specialist Artez, will sit over four floors. Artez will be working alongside contract administrator Eddisons to help deliver the £1.1m project.

SoVibrant, an independent creative consultancy, is delivering the interior design scheme, which will comprise a fit-out of the commercial space and meeting rooms, as well as a public coffee shop, kitchenette and break-out spaces on the ground floor.

Mike Banton, managing director of Artez, said: “At Artez, we love working on diverse projects for a variety of clients. Our wide-ranging portfolio of work spans from restoring the world-renowned Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank, to transforming Stubbs Mill, a former cotton mill in Manchester, into commercial space.

“We’re really excited to be working on this project and to help the Diocese of Leeds to streamline its administration processes with its new premises.”

Debbie Child from the Diocese of Leeds commented: “This new and unique diocese has been created to enable the Church of England to serve this region better, and we are delighted to be bringing our offices together in state-of-the-art premises in the heart of Leeds.”

The refurbishment is due to be completed in early autumn 2016, with work starting at the end of this month.
