Two big American brands coming to Carnaby Street this summer
Property group Shaftesbury has announced that two big name American brands are coming to Carnaby Street this summer.
Beauty brand Urban Decay is to open its European flagship store at 44 Carnaby Street, while heritage footwear brand G.H. Bass is to launch its first global store on the street.
The Californian make-up brand has taken a prominent 1,000 sq ft site which will host exclusive items, product launches as well as a social space for blogger events and photoshoots.
Meanwhile heritage brand G.H. Bass, famous for its Weejun brand of leather loafers, is to open its 600 sq ft store at 35 Beak Street, stocking a range of male and female footwear and accessories favoured by fashion icons including Steve McQueen and Audrey Hepburn.
The upmarket Soho shopping street is popular with big-name brands, with True Religion, Traditional Weatherwear and Scalpers, all opening their first global store or UK flagship operation at the Carnaby estate, after Shaftesbury embarked on a strategy to attract more big-name, flagship shops to the district.
Following the announcement, Samantha Bain-Mollison, Group Retail Strategy & Leasing Executive at Shaftesbury said: “It is great to welcome the two brands to the West End – G.H. Bass and Urban Decay, both iconic brands in their own right and complement the fashion forward direction of the Carnaby destination.”
Colliers and Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of landlord, Shaftesbury in the deal.
