LG secures Intersolar Award 2016

For the third time in four years, LG Electronics has won the Intersolar Award in the photovoltaics category. Part of Intersolar Europe in Munich, these awards showcase and recognise talent from across the industry. LG’s new high-performance BiFacial module has won over the judges with its unique design, which utilises both sides of the module to absorb more light and ultimately generate more electricity. Under optimum conditions, the energy yield of the module has increased by up to 25 per cent compared to standard modules.

LG NeON 2 BiFacial: More power from two sides

The LG NeON 2 BiFacial, is based on the high-performance module LG NeON 2, which won the Intersolar Award in 2015. The new module uniquely captures light through the transparent film on the back of the solar panel, effectively contributing to electricity production for the first time. By combining the 60 highly efficient monocrystalline cells with the transparent back sheet, under optimum conditions, a single LG NeON 2 BiFacial module can output up to 375 Wp.

Users also benefit from the great durability of the LG NeON 2 BiFacial modules. The modules are designed for front loads of 6,000 Pascal (Pa) and a rear load of 5,400 Pa, even in extreme wind (speeds up to 93 meters per second) and snow (up to 1.8 meters). In addition to twelve years of product warranty LG Electronics offers, the LG NeON 2 BiFacial modules have an extended 25-year linear performance guarantee. The annual degradation has been reduced to a maximum of 0.6 per cent per year. Therefore, the guaranteed performance of the modules is 83.6 per cent even after 25 years of operation.
