Newcastle care provider Vocare to create 70 new jobs
Urgent care service provider Vocare has revealed it will create 70 new jobs at its Newcastle base, the result of a surge in new contract wins.
The business is set to recruit nurses and paramedics, as well as bolstering its North East call centre operations.
New contract wins in London and the South West are driving the firm’s recruitment plan, whereby the firm will run the urgent care centre at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington as well as an urgent care service in south west London
Such new wins have helped turnover grow from £34m at the end of the financial year ending 31st March 2015 to a current run rate of £83m. Moreover, since 2012, the number of people employed by Vocare has increased from 950 to 2600.
John Harrison, chief executive of The Vocare Group, said: “Vocare has experienced a period of sustained growth recently by offering enhanced quality services that offer good value for money to the NHS and the public. Our expansion into London is very significant and gives us a truly nationwide presence.
“We are already looking wider at further opportunities for growth through diversification and will soon be looking for investment to help us realise our aims.
“Our focus continues to be to improve access to urgent healthcare and to relieve the strain on accident and emergency departments. In order to do this successfully, we are working in close collaboration with Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and local healthcare providers to deliver a quality service to patients. This coupled with our culture of innovation will help us deliver things better and faster than ever before.”
