£70k funding deal delivers site acquisition for Tameside waste removal firm

Waste removal company The Rubbish Removers is expanding into new premises in Greater Manchester with the help of a £70k funding deal.

The Tameside-based firm has used the five-figure support, provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), to acquire a unit on Lord Street in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The new space gives The Rubbish Removers an increased office and warehouse footprint, allowing the firm to accommodate a growing demand for its services.

Founded by husband and wife team Chris and Diane Johnson in 2001, The Rubbish Removers provides both domestic and commercial waste removal services.

While the company’s heartland is Greater Manchester, over the last two years The Rubbish Removers has expanded geographically with new clients across the wider North and Midlands.

Chris Johnson said: “Demand for our services has really increased during the last two years and as a result we had outgrown our existing premises.

“As soon as we saw the new unit we knew that it would be perfect for us but as it was being sold at auction we needed to get funding in place very quickly.”

He added: “The new unit is perfect and will continue to meet our needs for the foreseeable future as we continue to focus on geographical expansion.”

The funding package was facilitated by RBS relationship manager Joe Riley.

Joe commented: “We often work to tight time frames and I am pleased that we were able to get the funding in place for Chris and Diane.

“They have built a solid business and the new premises will provide them with an ideal base from which they can continue to grow.”
