Garbutt + Elliott gears up with Twisted appointment

Yorkshire accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott has been appointed as the new business advisors of the Thirsk-based Twisted Automotive.

Twisted specialises in conversion and restoration of the Land Rover Defenders for fans of the popular farm vehicle, which has a cult following around the world.

Jeremy Oliver, partner with Garbutt + Elliott, which has offices in York and Leeds, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Twisted have chosen us as their new accountants and advisors. They are a tremendously successful company, dedicated to top-quality customer service.

“Their business is synonymous with the legendary Defender and one dedicated to the highest standards. They have perfected their offering over the years by taking the time to totally understand the product they are working with and creating new, upgraded versions of an iconic vehicle.

“It is no wonder the majority of their business is from word of mouth – their customers know they are the best. It will be a pleasure to work with such an accomplished, enthusiastic and successful company.

“Our appointment is a resounding endorsement of our growing reputation for working with high-growth businesses who are looking for more than just a basic compliance service. In addition to audit tax and payroll services, Twisted will have our specialist taxation services and in-house corporate finance team to assist them on their growth journey.”

Mr Oliver added: “We believe there is a synergy and a sense of shared objectives between the two firms which bodes extremely well for the future. We share the same values, have a great love of, and commitment, to Yorkshire and are both dedicated to providing the best possible service for our customers and clients.”

Ian Robinson, finance manager of Twisted, commented: “There are many positive reasons why we took the decision to partner with Garbutt & Elliot. Understanding the size of our business was key to the relationship, as a small and growing successful business we knew G&E would be in a position to appreciate who we are, where we’ve come from and our personal needs with the personal service to match.

“G&E offer a wide range of quality services from accounting and taxation through to financial advice and having this all under one roof makes the process much easier and more efficient for the running of Twisted.

“As well as efficiency, value for money was also important, knowing that as the Twisted business grows, so would the need for more services and advice. G&E recognised offering good value for more money at the start would be beneficial as the need from Twisted increases.”

Twisted Automotive, which employs 22 people, exports to markets not just in the UK and Europe but also places such as Jakarta, Indonesia, Malaysia and Tobago.
