Pkf Cooper parry speak at national property event

Two senior members of the service charge team at Midlands-based PKF Cooper Parry were guest speakers at a national commercial property management event.

Head of service charge Gavin Whitehouse and service charge manager Gemma Edwards spoke at the two-day Property Management Unwrapped event, which took place at Royal Holloway in Egham.

The two-day event, which was organised by Brethertons Solicitors, explored the changes in the property management sector and featured a number of high profile, industry-leading speakers, who gave topical presentations on a whole host of subjects.

Gavin and Gemma hosted a discussion during the break-out sessions and addressed accounting issues in respect of mixed use property developments and conversions.

Gavin has more than 25 years’ experience in the service charge sector and is a Chartered Accountant, Associate of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the Institute of Residential Property.

As Head of Service Charge Accounting at PKF Cooper Parry, he oversees all certification and advisory services and provides support and consultancy services to landlords and managing agents in both the residential and commercial sectors.

Gemma has more than a decade’s commercial and residential property accounting experience both within the UK and Europe.

As a Service Charge Manager at PKF Cooper Parry, she provides property finance advice for her clients and is heavily involved in implementing a bespoke operational workflow system across their managing agent clients.
