Blueprint Wins Residential Property Award

Specialist developer Blueprint has scooped Residential Development of the Year 2016 at the Midlands Insider Residential Property Awards.

The annual awards celebrate and promote the remarkable achievements of the region’s important residential sector, and showcased key projects, people and businesses within the industry.

Blueprint won the prestigious award for its Hobart & Pitcairn development in the Meadows, Nottingham. Judges were looking for aspects of innovative or novel design, environmental credentials, benefits to the local community and integration of private and public housing. How developers showed commercial success and skills in putting together the transaction was also a consideration.

The Hobart & Pitcairn development, which comprises 73 low energy 2-5 bed homes, was the third phase of a wider development delivered jointly with Asra Housing Association and housebuilder William Davis.

Blueprint chose to self-impose higher environmental building standards on the project enabling the developer to tap into the emerging market of energy conscious buyers. Extensive community consultations with local residents were also organised by Blueprint throughout the planning and design process.

Nick Ebbs, chief executive of Blueprint, said: “Gaining recognition and winning the award for our ambitious and innovative development is very rewarding. From the start, design quality and sustainability were the defining attributes of Hobart & Pitcairn. Creating and enhancing communities and neighbourhoods through design led, low energy housing are crucial parts of the sustainability agenda; and Hobart & Pitcairn has proved to be a very successful and hugely popular development.”

One of Blueprint’s latest residential developments, Trent Basin, is currently under construction. Phase One of the £100 million regeneration scheme has nearly 25 per cent of the homes reserved off plan. Trent Basin offers a mix of 2-5 bed apartments and houses. In total approximately 500 homes are to be built at Trent Basin which is kick-starting regeneration in the Waterside area of Nottingham.
